Egoli Gas is a 100% owned subsidiary of the Reatile Group through its subsidiary called Liquidmist (Pty) Ltd.
Reatile is a black owned investment holding company formed in 2003 to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the economic transformation in industrial sectors of the South African economy. The founding members and executive management team are black professionals with a combined experience of over 50 years in these sectors.
Reatile Energy also owns a majority equity stake in Reatile Gaz, a 55%:45% joint venture between Reatile and Engen. Reatile Group through its majority owned subsidiary, Reatile Energy purchased 21.9% of the equity of CNG Holdings (Pty) Ltd on 5 November 2015. Reatile Gaz and Easigas have merged their respective Southern African LPG operations as of January 2016 whereby Reatile Gaz holds 40% equity. Reatile Gaz has grown dramatically with highlights being the purchase of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) business in Air Products in 2007 and the incorporation of the Engen's LPG business in 2010. It also has a partnership with Vopak which is involved in the importation, storage and distribution of petroleum products in South Africa.
MR. SIMPHIWE MEHLOMAKULU
Simphiwe joined Sasol Chemical Industries in 1993 as a Process Engineer in Sasol Technical Division. In 1995, appointed to the marketing division of Sasol Phenolics in Rosebank as a Regional Sales Manager. Over the next five years, he was involved in Sales and Marketing of various Sasol Chemicals both locally and abroad. Appointed Export Manager: India and Asia Pacific in Sasol Solvents Division in 1998 and soon became the Global Export Manager (aka International Sales Manager). In June 2000, Sasol Solvents won the President’s Export Achievement Award for export achievement in the chemicals, plastics and pharmaceutical category, under Simphiwe’s leadership.
MRS NANGAMSO THANDIWE CONJWA
Thandi has over 15 years’ experience working in financial markets, specifically in money and capital markets. She is the Managing Director and a founding member of Zambezi Capital and is responsible for relationship management with key strategic stakeholders, advice on debt origination, debt structuring, and risk management. Prior to this she was a Deputy Treasury Manager in Transnet where she was responsible for the sourcing of funds from both domestic and international markets for the capital and operating expenditure budget for Transnet Limited. This entailed alignment of the budgets and the funding plan through a detailed analysis of Transnet’s current assets as well as the capital expenditure programme.
Before joining Transnet, she worked in the Treasury Division of Wipcapital where amongst other things she was responsible for structuring asset and liability management solutions for clients. She was instrumental in the origination and implementation of the immunisation strategy of the Transnet Pension Fund.
Preceding this she worked for Real Africa Durolink, Standard Corporate and Merchant Bank (SCMB) and ABSA Bank where she specialised in interest rate products ranging from the underlying interest rate instruments to the derivative products. During her time in SCMB she was involved in the hedging programme of South African Airways’ aircraft finance and was also part of the team that set up the credit derivative portfolio, which was amongst the first such portfolios in South Africa. She has developed vast experience in the trading, structuring and marketing of interest rate products across the board. .
MR. SHEPHERD SHONHIWA
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, REATILE GROUP (PTY) LTD
Shepherd began his working career in 1977 at Huletts Sugar agro-industry in Zimbabwe and rose through the ranks in HR Training, Marketing and General Management. Over the last three decades he held executive positions in industries including petro-chemical, motor trading, milling, media, FMCG and business consulting across the African continent. A past chairman of the Institute of Directors Southern Africa, Shepherd was associated with the launch of King II and III Codes of Corporate Governance. He has held Directorships in listed and private companies in Southern and East Africa.
